Walkies! Fit Bites: Treat review and giveaway
I have a confession to make…I love getting to try new dog treats.
Well, I don’t actually eat them, of course!
But, I love discovering new treats and I love seeing what Ginger and my foster dogs and my clients’ dogs think of them. Because, I’m always on the quest for that one perfect training treat….
But seriously, I like getting to sample new treats because different treats work better for different situations. And some treats work better with some dogs, while other dogs prefer other treats. So, I like to always have a variety of treats in mind that I know dogs like and that I know I can recommend to my clients.
(Note: Ginger and I received some free treats from Cardinal Pet Care / Crazy Dog as part of this review. However, all opinions contained within this post are my own and I was not compensated for this review.)
Recently, Ginger dog and I got the chance to try a type of treats that I hadn’t ever tried before — the Walkies! Fit Bites treats, which are made by Crazy Dog. These treats come in three favors, chicken, beef, and bacon.
I’ve bought and used other Crazy Dog treats before, notably their Train-Me training treats. So, I was enthusiastic to give the Walkies! treats a try to see what the dogs would think of them and to see how they would work for training. Over the past month, I’ve let Ginger sample these treats and I’ve also used them with some of my private training clients and in some of my group classes.
As you might be able to tell from the pictures, Ginger thought these treats were pretty tasty! All of the other pups that got to sample these treats also seemed to have the same opinion. And I bet your dog would like them too.
Here’s what I liked best about these treats:
– Texture and consistency: These treats have a nice texture for training treats. They are soft and moist, which makes them perfect for training, but they aren’t crumbly and aren’t so soft that they get all over your hands. The dogs also seemed to think that they had a quite nice smell and taste.
– Awesome size: These treats are a perfect size for training. They are small enough that they can be swallowed quickly and small enough that your dog won’t fill up too fast. But, they are big enough that they are easy to handle and deliver during training. They also easily break in half, for small breed dogs that need even smaller bites.
– Great for active dogs: These treats contain taurine, L-carnitine, and chicken cartilage (a natural source of glucosamine). These all help keep your dog healthy and fit, by supporting heart health, joint health, and weight control. The treats are also low calorie, which makes them great for training.
Bonus: I also loved that they are “foot shaped!” With these treats, Crazy Dog is hoping to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for people and pets. I think these treats are perfect for training, walking, or just having fun with your dog and I would definitely recommend that you check them out.
My only “complaint:” although Crazy Dog manages to fit about 200 treats in the 4 oz. bag, I don’t think these treats come in a larger bag. When I’m doing lots of training, I tend to go through treats pretty fast! So, I would love to seem them also offer these treats in a larger sized bag.
Also, as always, if you have a dog with allergies or a sensitive stomach, you’ll want to check the ingredients to make sure that these treats will be a good fit for your pup.

I don’t do a lot of trick training with my dogs, but they have to walk about 15 feet from the back door to the fenced in yard. They do pretty well with it, but I always like having a treat to keep their attention on me instead of a squirrel. These treats seem perfect!
